The FAO–AUN-AFS Youth Research Proposal Competition 2026 is officially open for applications.
Research Themes
Proposals must align with the FAO’s "Four Betters" and its core theme of innovation, data, and digital transformation:

Better Production: Sustainable Food Systems and Production for Food Security.

Better Environment: Climate-Resilience and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources and Biodiversity.
-
Better Nutrition: Nutrition, Food Safety, and Public Health.
-
Better Life: Inclusive Rural Development and Agricultural Innovation.
-
All Betters: Innovation, data, and digital transformation for advancing sustainable, resilient, and inclusive agrifood systems.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must be a Master’s Student.

Aged 35 years and below.
-
Enrolled in an ASEAN+3 UNet Member University.
-
Must have completed at least one (1) introductory course from the FAO e-Learning Academy under one of the 5 research themes.
